Novel patent-protected smart sensors comprised of multilayer polymeric nano and micro-composites
have applications in medical, electrical, information technology, automotive, aerospace, marine, consumer, industrial, defense and homeland security. These small, low cost, passive sensors are undetectable and will detect, trigger, and communicate resulting information.
A micro-sensor aerosol system concept is developed to
remotely establish the track of incoming missiles. The technology
is based on low-cost passive polymeric composite cloud system. The
technology is most effective in booster phase and in near real time verification and
destruction or disabling of the warhead of adversary missiles.
On cloud detection of missile location at time specific the track is
then handed off to radar system.

Smart sensor technology is developed to protect personnel from the
explosive action of IEDs. The system consists of land based smart micro
sensor detectors and sensitive airborne or land based camera processing
units. The sensors are typically sown over roadways and
adjacent regions and are indicative of topography changes and activated by specific pressure levels
characteristic of the weight of transiting intruders, or vehicles. The
activated sensors emit characteristic optical signals detected by
sensitive camera/communication system.
Unique patent-protected smart nano and micro-coatings
have applications in medical, electrical, information technology, automotive, aerospace, marine, consumer, industrial and defense. These smart coatings will provide uses such as smart switching, antifouling coating removal on command, smart membranes, lenses, and new electric and photonic devices.
New patent-protected shipping container film sensors placed within each container
provide protection to 100% of containers 24/7.
Smart micro sensors embedded in the film
respond to hazardous materials such as CBW agents or radioactive
substances by displaying a specific color or conductivity level indicative of a
particular hazard. Wireless transfer to computer instantaneously collects and transmits the
information. The cost of such film sensors is estimated to be less than
$10 each. In this manner every container is monitored 24/7. Patent

PEL's smart, low cost, passive micro-sensors can
be tailored to detect unauthorized vehicles or swimmers entering a
port. These sensors can be so arranged for specific port type,
topography, and operations.
